HISTORY:

Nobuko is an artist deeply fascinated by water in all its forms – whether the vastness of the sea or the courses of rivers. For her, water is much more than a simple natural element: it becomes an infinite mirror of the beauty and complexity of the world. The changing reflections and ripples on the surface of the water catch her eye, feed her imagination, and plunge her into meditation.

She perceives subtle patterns and plays of light, fluid and ephemeral shapes that seem to slip away at every moment. By observing these movements, Nobuko distinguishes fractals, these infinitely complex and self-similar geometric structures, which recall the structure of nature itself.

The artist sees in water a metaphor for infinity and repetition, a source of endless contemplation and inspiration, where each wave, each cloud, each reflection constitutes an invitation to explore new visual and spiritual horizons.

"Mahal Seine" takes the meaning of the Hindi Mahal: the Palace. Mahal Seine is his spiritual palace, his source of contemplation, his focal point.

It is in this quest for the immaterial, the fragile moment and perpetual movement, that she draws her creativity, capturing the invisible and the infinite thanks to light and the cyanotype process.

Cyanotype is a way of experimenting and interacting with nature, like a form of alchemy, it plays between the sun, the composition of iron and salt.

We also have these essential minerals in our body.

Perhaps the reason we seek the sun is because we want to engrave a blue dream (poetry) into our bodies.”
