“We don’t just paint with colors, we paint with feelings” said the painter Chardin.
It is even more than with feelings, it is with a state of mind entirely devoted to a humble, simple and authentic life that Nou Sary has represented his daily scenes for more than twenty years.
A graduate of the Royal University of Fine Arts of Cambodia and the École Supérieure d’Art et de Design de Saint-Etienne, was born and raised in Cambodia in a rice-growing region.
Marked by Buddhism, his works are part of the search for wisdom and awakening, as with “Circle of Life” which refers to the wheel of time:
His paintings are punctuated by labor and tradition, enlivened by a lively palette and dynamic touches taking precedence over detail to suggest the idea of repeated, regular movements: work like a mantra that allows one to achieve serenity. and inner peace.
His “Harvest” series is a testimony to his attachment to his roots:
In Cambodia, for the people, the rice fields organize the territory, feed the population, provide work. For the painter, the poet, the traveler, they shape perspectives with the sun and the sky reflected there.
With his works on Krama (traditional Khmer scarves), symbolizing material simplicity, he pays homage to tradition and artisanal work.
These six works are available and visible by appointment in Paris and Marne la Vallée
