CHANNY CHHOEUN

Channy Chhoeun is a Cambodian artist who grew up in the jungle in a poor family.

As a child, he was traumatized by having to hunt and kill birds and animals himself to eat or protect his family. To take his mind off things he would draw in the dust or mud with simple pieces of wood.

Educated and trained in painting with the Phare Ponleu Selpak association, he today devotes his art to questioning the relationship between humans and the environment.
