HENG RAVUTH

Heng Ravuth is a Cambodian artist born in 1985, graduated from the Royal University of Fine Arts in Phnom Penh.

Heng Ravuth’s artistic career is marked by the initial role that photography played in his exploration of body language. It is then with painting that he pursues his aesthetic and inner quest, exploring his own personality and his interactions with the outside world.

Through his naked body, Heng Ravuth reveals himself with sincerity, revealing a double vulnerability: to external gazes but also to his own deep emotions.

Each of his self-portraits is covered with motifs that reveal a succession of emotions – or a succession of fantasies – and denounce the power of the image in a world where appearance plays a significant role.

This artistic approach is the result of an in-depth reflection on how visual perception and body representation can influence the understanding of oneself and others.
