Cyanotype

Nobuko is captivated by repetitions and fractals, geometric structures found in nature, such as leaf veins or ocean waves. By observing these movements, she perceives patterns that unfold to infinity, like reflections of the immensity of the natural world. It is in this quest for the immaterial, the fragile and the perpetual movement that Nobuko finds her source of inspiration. She explores this universe by capturing the invisible and the infinite through light, using the cyanotype process to create images imbued with mystery and depth.
This ancient process, which produces photogram prints, becomes for her a way to reveal abstract patterns and play with repetition, by associating photographs or multiplying prints to generate new compositions. Each work thus becomes a game of superpositions and reinterpretations, where light and shadow blend to create patterns that echo the complex and repetitive structure of the natural world.
Cyanotype is a way of experimenting and interacting with nature, like a form of alchemy, it plays between the sun, the composition of iron and salt.
We also have these essential minerals in our body.
Perhaps the reason we seek the sun is because we want to engrave a blue dream (poetry) into our bodies.”
