Risa Quantumy

“Kunmani” or the Living-in-the-moment philosophy!

Let yourself be carried away by the power of the moment!

Galerie Oia recently had the pleasure of meeting Risa Quantumy, a Japanese artist, during one of her visits to Paris.

We had the pleasure of discovering the unique world of this young artist, who draws on the present moment to bring vibrant and profound works to life.

Born in Shimane Izumo, a spiritual land in Japan, Risa explores human emotions and experiences through instinctive painting. Each canvas is the result of a precise moment, an energy captured and translated into color and form.

Kibou means Hope in Japanese

It was during a transformative trip to Peru in 2019 that her art took on its full meaning. Stranded there for several months due to the pandemic, she found raw and immediate inspiration in everyday life, landscapes, and encounters.

Risa’s creations are an ode to the present moment. They reflect her philosophy: “It is now” — an approach inherited from the Quechua “Kunmani,” which she integrates into her artistic vision.
